  • Siegi

About 25 years ago, Siegi, together with his wife Irmgard, took over the family business. Since then, he has been running the Jägerhof in Walten at the Jaufen Pass with exactly what defines him: dedication, vision, and true passion. He knows the house better than anyone else and is familiar with every corner and detail. And honestly: without him, nothing here would probably run smoothly.

He gives his all to live and share our values: genuine hospitality, true family togetherness, and sustainable, regionally rooted tourism that touches people.

    My motto:
"Carry on with gratitude, create with passion."

    What I enjoy doing:
    baking bread

My favorite spot in the Passeier Valley:
    our sunny terrace

You can usually find me at the Jägerhof:
in the kitchen and at the reception

  • Irmgard

Irmgard’s professional journey originally began in the kindergarden; perhaps this explains her warm and loving nature, which she brings to her interactions with people to this day. When she met Siegi, she moved to Walten, and for over 30 years she has been ensuring that our guests feel completely at home at the Jägerhof.

Like Siegi, Irmgard shares the same values: genuine hospitality, a deep connection to the region, and above all a strong belief that family cohesion is the most important foundation for a family-run business like the Jägerhof.

    My motto:
"Home is where you feel welcome."

    What I enjoy doing:
    Exploring the world

My favorite spot in the Passeier Valley:

  • Matthias

Matthias is our culinary creative mind; a junior chef who brings fresh energy to the Jägerhof and elevates vegetarian cuisine in Walten with his ideas. After graduating from the Kaiserhof Hotel Management School in Merano, he joined the family business directly. For the past eight years, he has been working alongside his father in the kitchen, giving the Jägerhof cuisine its modern and distinctive signature.

He is especially known for his creative vegetarian dishes, which even convince dedicated meat lovers and leave them amazed. His cooking is fresh, bold, and guided by a clear philosophy: regional, seasonal, and full of passion.

    My motto:
"Inspiration can be found everywhere; you just have to be open to it."

    What I enjoy doing:

  • Magdalena

After graduating from the Kaiserhof Hotel Management School in Merano, Magdalena joined the family business directly. Since then, she has welcomed our guests with great warmth, guided them through their stay, and ensured a personal and attentive service in the evenings.

In summer, Magdalena is often out in the mountains and happily shares her favorite hiking tips with our guests. In the evenings, she complements every menu with a suitable wine recommendation.

In winter, she works as a ski instructor on the slopes, combining her love of movement with her deep connection to the region.

    My motto:
    "Nature is my balance."

    What I enjoy doing:
I love spending my free time outdoors in nature or exploring the world and discovering new cultures.

My favorite spot in the Passeier Valley:

  • Emilia

Emilia is the youngest member of our Jägerhof family, at least at heart.
As our god-calf, she lives on the Aignerhof, a loving organic farm in St. Martin, where she grows up with her mother and experiences the first steps of her life in a natural and safe environment. Still small, curious, and a little clumsy, she explores her world there, always surrounded by attentive care, fresh mountain air, her mother Ella, and a mixed-age herd.

For us at the Jägerhof, Emilia is more than just a god-calf; she represents respect for animals, a connection to the region, and appreciation for genuine farm work. We are delighted to accompany her a little on her journey of growing up and to be part of her small yet significant story.

    My motto:
"Small, curious, right in the middle."

    What I enjoy doing:
Chasing chickens ;) and using the barn as an adventure playground

My favorite spot in St. Leonhard:
    Very close to my mom.

Where you can find me at the Jägerhof:
In many stories and in our hearts. 🐄💚
